First version: Interface!

Ok: First of all: This is NOT our final version, but this is similar to what it's going to look like.

Please, feel free to comment on the graphics, we'll accept any kind of critism, we'll only use it to make it better! :)

Oh, there might come a little less updates on our blog, as I just got my European Wii. (Wii Play is the best!) We're still working on the project, but questions will be answered a little later than usual.
Wiiii! :D

  • I say leave it as simple as possible. But make it sporty. Simplicity makes speed, and sporty is attractive.
    I like it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:11 PM

  • Nice.

Also, since you got a Wii, does that mean your first release will be delayed? ;'(

Hopefully we'll get it before 2007. Keep at it!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:26 PM

  • Corm. I like it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:31 PM

  • Its not bad. It would be a whole lot better if a different wall paper is used (sorry, i'm kind of against pink and stars). Just a personal suggestion
    though...:)

Yeah, keep it simple to the max. This interface clearly achieved simplicity.

Well done! I look forward to using this browser!

  • Hmm.... not bad, not bad at all! Just a question though, would we need a Nintendo DS compatible wireless router to access the web through Gnirfleo?

Or can we use any other wireless router? Thanks, and well done!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:59 PM

  • awww i hope it will support NDS USB stickie PLEASEEE!!!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:47 AM

  • The only thing to confirmed to be working is by using a wireless internet connection.

The release of the first release won't be delayed, because I'm the only one with a Wii, so the others are still working on the browser. ;)

  • Keep in mind that the graphic engine for the DS would probably favor a more bitmap/pixel looking interface over someting that has gradients. example" that red thing on the right side. At least it would look more aesthetically pleasing.

  • Load.. is a secret future we'll post about in a while..

    Nothing special though..

By Blogger Gnirfleo, at 2:13 AM

  • it would be great if we could change the skin like in moonshell

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:40 PM

  • If it's not too much to ask..
Can you try to update a little bit more often?
I know you are updating more than you were , but I (and I'm sure other people) want a little more information about whats going on.
What are you currently working on? The interface?

    A feature in the browser?
    Hot spot detector?
    Video?
    Will streaming Windows Media work?
Can we go on You Tube?
    What about Meebo?
    Tabbed Browsing?

I don't mean to be pushy. But I'm just curious.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:32 PM

  • Very nice. Do you have an idea s to when we can expect the first release?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:20 AM

  • A feature in the browser?
    What kind of feature?
    Hot spot detector?
    Maybe, not yet.
    Video?
    No. Sorry.
    Will streaming Windows Media work?
    See above.
Can we go on You Tube?
Yes, but videos probably won't work.
    What about Meebo?
Don't know about Meebo, what's that?
    Tabbed Browsing?
    Probably!

By Blogger Gnirfleo, at 7:12 AM

It lets you sign on IM things.
    Its like an internet GAIM.

  • Honestly it doesnt matter if it can surf the web!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:42 PM

  • Exactly. It does matter.
I might want to talk to people while surfing the web. After all thats what the internet was created for.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:31 AM

  • please tell me it works with the USB connector *crys*

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:19 PM

  • Dude.. what the hell are you talking about? This is a program not Hardware..

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:49 PM

  • ok gnirfleo. u just gat to be kidding. i have not post a comment since u started this project hoping the only thing is for the browser to support flash but i was very disappointed when u said u cant watch video on youtube or any other flash material on the web, so what fucking different does it make with the opera . because the main thing people complain about about the opera is the flash. this is bullshit.u can IM at 'ojuniour' AIM. i wish okiwi good luck.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:23 AM

  • This is a Hoax Browser this is the same person to Okiwi browser HOAX HOAX HOAX HOAX HOAX..........

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:18 AM

  • And most of all, The Opera browser isn't free.

And no, I'm not the same author as the author from Okiwi. ;)

And just because Flash isn't supported at the beginning, doesn't mean it won't be supported EVER.. ;)

By Blogger Gnirfleo, at 1:05 PM

  • Publish then a Demo version then belive i you .....

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:57 AM

  • hey as i said earlier about the browser not supporting video, youtube or flash material. i am so sorry, gnirfleo ,about the words i used i was so mad and curious.
but i want to make things clear now.
FIRST; are you certainkly sure it might still support flash at the final version , certainly sure?

SECOND;can it be possible for java -and being a large file u can render it directly to the removable sd/cf card so it gives unlimited space instead of the slachcart ram-i hope that's a good idea or is it possible?

THIRD; do you really think you can do better than okiwi and opera?

i will really appericate u for the answer gnirfleo.
    thanks

  • You guys are too demanding. They are doing it from the good will of their hearts, at no cost and here we are badgering them about functions and questions.

Dude, lets cut them some slack and let them work, ok? They are doing the best they can, I'm sure. Keep up the good work, Gnirfleo!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:47 PM

  • Well, we're not sure if flash will ever work. We do know that lots of people want this, so we're trying our asses of to get this working.

And a final version doesn't exist. We will keep updating untill nobody wants it anymore. It's never perfect. ;)

And the browser isn't ready to be released as a demo yet. We'll release it when you are able to browser the web correctly, but Gnirfleo is just not ready yet.

And we also don't know about Java yet, since we haven't started working on that.

And lastly: We don't know if we'll be better then Okiwi, because we have never used it yet. We hope to be better then the Opera browser, but hey: The price makes it all up, doesn't it?

By Blogger Gnirfleo, at 8:17 AM

  • ok. u can probably stop working on flash or java and focus on the main project then later on add them to ur update. that would be better...just like psp

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:53 PM

  • Guys, don't be so bummed at the loss of flash support. Personally, I never hoped for it in the first place, as I highly doubt that the DS can handle flash animations more complex than a few moving objects. Keep in mind that the DS has only 4 MB of RAM. 4 megabytes! That isn't a lot of memory to work with. At all. Heck, DSLinux even has a RAM enabled version that uses my Supercard's RAM to bring the total amount up to 36 MB, and I still managed to crash it by running too many programs at once. You simply cannot doo much with the limited resources of the DS.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:26 PM

  • Thats true. Anyway, why bother with flash player support? The DS is not going to replace your computer you know..

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:57 AM

  • yeah, but what are homebrews for.it means people who hacked in to do the impossible and surprise takes thing to another level , to do what is unthinkable(even when the product is incapable of it). I know it might slow down the ds but the first guy to actually bring a complete web browsing to a ds (liek adding the flash player)will be the well know guy and evenly break the record of the psp browsing. i am not forcing him to put flash on it, but to encourage him and keep his good work up,ok guys so let clear things out. Go gnirfleo and team .

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:47 AM

  • Keep it simple thats wat i saw impress us with the internet surfing

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:53 AM

  • It is possible to se Gnirfleo in this year or maybe on 00:00 in 31st of December and 1st of January 2007:D?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:36 AM

  • I hope they release it soon! But its better to get a good, stable version later than a buggy beta now, right?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:37 PM

  • GO GNIRFLEO!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:40 AM

  • go gnir. hey guys check out my blog and write comment too
which is better sony or nintendo or microsoft

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:44 AM

  • I think I don't get what that Javascript does.. Can you explain it please?

By Blogger Gnirfleo, at 3:38 AM

  • Ah I get it now.. It is a nice feature indeed, but we will have to insert all existing words.. That way too much work for now.

We're rather working on a complete browser now ;)

By Blogger Gnirfleo, at 1:32 PM

  • You should release an alpha v.00001 for new years. Whether its incredibly unstable or not. So people know it's still a work in progress.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:41 PM

  • Pascal you jusk ask? Well you always ask!!!!!!!!

Too much. can you not just wait for a release then test it and then ask a few of your hundreds of questions?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:53 PM

  • About the Nintendo Wifi Usb Connector, i don't think it will be possible to connect with it, because no homebrew can and no one found how...Try with the unofficial drivers...

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:51 PM

  • K.O.!!!! I think gnirfleo is gonna win to okiwi!!

and i posted this because if anyone was interested on a picture designer and a animation designer to put on your homebrew projects add to hotmail: ja-roque@hotmail.com THANKS.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:52 PM

  • I see many great things in the future of Gnirfleo. Keep it up! :D

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:12 PM

  • Enjoyed the blog about ebay motorcycle found it very informative. I found a good website which also features ebay motorcycle and ebay motorcycle. The link is great for **uk bargains** including Nintendo Wii, PS2, PS3, games consoles and features famous online stores inc Argos, Marks and Spencer, Empire Direct, LX Direct, Tesco, Next. There is also a chance to play online bingo and try your luck at the online gambling sites available inc roulette, poker and fruit machines. I've also found another site for **free soccer links**. Hope you find these sites interesting - all the best!

  • Bush and the Republicans were not protecting us on 9-11, and we aren't a lot safer now. We may be more afraid due to george bush, but are we safer? Being fearful does not necessarily make one safer. Fear can cause people to hide and cower. What do you think? Is killing thousands of innocent civilians okay when you are doing a little government makeover?
Are we safer today than we were before?
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
